The 2008 Allstate BCS National Championship game gets under way between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Louisiana State Tigers, at the Louisiana Superdome.
The Ohio State Buckeyes rock solid defense will be looking forward to crushing the Tigers offense. The Buckeyes defense is the strongest there is. They’re ranked 1st in total yds allowed (227), pass yds allowed (148) and they have the lowest points allowed average (10). They are the fourth best team at stopping the rush, allowing a low 79 yds a game. LSU isn’t the greatest team at stopping the rush but they are great at shutting down their opponents passing game. Their offense with QB Matt Flynn at helm is just as good as the Buckeyes. Tigers QB Flynn has 17 TD passes for 2,233 yds and the Buckeyes QB Todd Boekman has 23 TD passes for 2,164 yds. Both the Buckeyes and Tigers have a RB with over 1,000 yds rushing and double digit TDs. The Buckeyes have the advantage with WR Brian Robiskie who has 10 TD for 885 yds compared to the Tigers WR Brandon LaFell who has 4 TD for 641 yds. This is as close to a home game for the Tigers and the Buckeyes will want to silence the crowd early.
